A Guide for Re-entryat Hughes Center

As our communities begin to return to work, we remain as committed as ever to the well-being and success of our customers. Our vision of creating spaces that bring humanity to the workplace and allow people to thrive remains unchanged.

We know that wellness in the workplace is paramount to you at this time and that our environments need to be safe, adaptable and easy to access.


Our commitment to collaboration

This plan aims to address your needs and provide support during this time. The content was based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), and the orders and strong recommendations of Orange County, California, dated May 22, 2020. The plan was also informed by your input to our recent email survey – your time and thoughtful answers are greatly appreciated. We are here to support you at every step of your reentry to the workplace, and we will continue to share information and updates.


Our commitment to community

Ensuring the safety and well-being of all Canvas occupants will remain a top priority for us. We have been conducting enhanced cleanings and have placed additional hand sanitizing stations throughout the building. In addition, we have provided regular, proactive tenant communications to keep you informed of this rapidly evolving situation. As you return to work, you will notice various signs reminding occupants to maintain social distancing and to wear recommended face coverings while in the building.


Our commitment to convenience

We will continue to offer regular building communications and virtual health and wellness programs for tenants working remotely.

To provide a space where customers can thrive while staying safe, we have also made adjustments to our common areas including changes to layouts and furniture. We have spaced out or removed common area seating throughout the campus, and provided hand sanitizing stations to ensure our spaces facilitate social distancing needs and proper sanitation, while allowing for collaboration and community.

Re-Entry Information

To support your transition back to Hughes Center, we developed a reentry plan which includes the following:

Mask Requirement

All building occupants and visitors are required to wear a face covering while in common areas of the buildings (including lobbies, elevators, elevator banks and common restrooms) consistent with guidance from SNDH and Governor Sisolak’s directives. An exception may be made where an individual wearing a face covering is not advisable by a healthcare professional.

Path of Travel

To manage the flow of traffic, we are keeping all building entrances and exits open per normal. We are placing floor graphics and signage at all entry points to encourage social distancing throughout the campus.  Please follow the traffic pattern as directed by the signage within the building. 

Lobby and Outdoor Seating Areas

In accordance with CDC recommendations, all persons should practice social distancing while on the property. All lobby and common area indoor/outdoor seating will remain closed until further notice. Security will monitor the outdoor seating areas and lobby activities for social distancing purposes.

Elevators

Security guards will assist on the first floor to coordinate elevators for visitors and tenants.  Please adhere to social distancing signage recommendations when waiting for elevator access and limit occupancy to four people at a time when using the elevators. As previously mentioned, face coverings must be worn in the common areas of the buildings (including lobbies, elevators, elevator banks and common restrooms) and this is especially important where a 6-foot social distance is limited, such as inside elevator cars. An exception may be made where an individual wearing a face covering is not advisable by a healthcare professional.

Hand sanitizing stations have been installed on all ground floor lobbies for your convenience.  Hand sanitizing stations will soon be installed on all multi-tenant elevator lobbies throughout the buildings.

Stairwells

Stairwell access will be allowed for those tenants who wish to exit their floors/building via the stairwells.

Garage/Parking

Parking garage entrances/exits will remain accessible for occupants and visitors. Please adhere to social distancing when waiting for parking elevator access and when using the garage elevators, and limit parking garage elevator occupancy to two people at a time. As previously mentioned, face coverings must be worn in the building/garage (subject to exception where an individual wearing a face covering is not advisable by a healthcare professional) and this is especially important where a 6-foot social distance is limited, such as inside elevator cars. Signage on face covering requirements, social distancing and elevator occupant will be posted in garage elevator lobbies.  Hand sanitizer stations to be installed on ground level landings.

Parking staff will frequently disinfect high touch point areas including door handles, elevator buttons and parking equipment.

Loading Dock and Service Elevator

The loading dock and Service elevator will operate as normal. Delivery personnel will be advised to wear masks, keep a social distance during deliveries and abide by the floor graphics information.

Amenities

Fitness Centers, Tenant Lounge and Central Park will be closed until further notice.

Signage

Various signage will be posted throughout the building and garage elevators to promote safe practices for our community.  Please familiarize yourself with all building signage and adhere to practices as specified.

Visitors

Visitors are required to wear a face covering while in building common areas (including lobby, elevators and common restrooms) and are expected to follow social distancing guidelines while in the building. Consistent with the Hughes Center face covering policy, an exception may be made where an individual wearing a face covering is not advisable by a healthcare professional. Please instruct your employees and visitors not to enter the building if they have been personally directed to remain quarantined, have a cough, fever, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills, muscle pain, sore throat or new loss of taste or smell, or have traveled recently outside the U.S.

Food delivery services such as Uber Eats and Postmates will be allowed to enter the building. However, tenants are encouraged to meet vendors outside via curbside for pick-up delivery.

Enhanced Cleaning

Janitorial has taken additional measures to disinfect frequently touched surfaces and objects with Waxie 710 disinfectant for the common areas.

Hand sanitizing dispenser stations and/or wipes are placed in the main lobby, the ground level elevator lobby and the ground floor freight elevator vestibules.

If a tenant would like to take additional preventative actions, our facilities cleaning service provider is available to provide tenant-specific cleaning. This cleaning would be coordinated between the service provider and tenant and would be a charge back to the tenant.

Coming soon on the Rise App, cleaning maps will be installed.  These maps will assist janitorial by notifying tenants and the operations team on the last time an area has been disinfected.  Updates will be sent when technology is activated.

  • Restrooms – Scheduled cleaning 4x/daily = every 2 hrs. and 1x/night

  • Lobbies - Scheduled cleaning 4x/daily = every 2 hrs. and 1x/night

  • Elevators - Scheduled cleaning 4x/daily = every 2 hrs. and 1x/night

  • Stairwells – Frequency will depend on occupancy tracker

  • Tenant Suites – Scheduled deep cleaning 2x/weekly

In between disinfecting schedules, all main touch points in the common areas are wiped/sanitized.

We will continue working closely with our cleaning service providers, contractors and vendors to ensure that they are following CDC guidance.  Attached, please find the janitorial plan for more details.

If you have any employees that are exhibiting symptoms or have tested positive for COVID-19, we ask that you please fill out the questionnaire and send to the property manager so we can assess next steps and continue protecting the safety and well-being of our customers and community.

Resources

We continue to approach the situation with an abundance of caution and follow guidance from the CDC, as well as executive orders from local government authorities. We will work closely with our facilities' cleaning service providers and contractors to help prevent the spread of the virus in the building.
